The Story of Fulvic Acids
Fulvic acids serve as the base component of many products we offer here at Energy Source. Not to be confused with folic acid(a common B vitamin), fulvic acids are some of nature’s most powerful organic electrolytes. They amplify the bioavailability of trace minerals and can regenerate and increase the residence time of essential nutrients in the cells. Your body only absorbs 20-50% of nutrients that are taken in pill form. With the addition of fulvic acids you can bring the absorption up to 98%. Fulvic acids are also powerful antioxidants and free radical scavengers. Fulvic acids aid you on your path to improved health in many ways.
Fulvic acids:
- Maximize full absorption of nutrients
- Aid in the removal of waste in cells (including toxins and heavy metals)
- Create and maintain ideal environments for nutrient interactions
- Encourage immune system response
- Allow cells to perform optimally
- Increase energy
The Origin of Fulvic Acids
Fulvic acids are a naturally occurring extract from ancient plant deposits that were created around 75 million years ago. Fulvic substances are components of humus: the rich, organic portion of soil that is vital to healthy plant growth. Through a process called humification, millions of beneficial soil-borne microbes decompose plant and animal matter, turning it into nutrient-rich soil. Fulvic acids are the result of the microbial activity that causes this rich production of soil and provide optimal health for the next rounds of plant and animal life.
Due to modern agricultural techniques, much of our soil no longer contains substantial amounts of fulvic acids. This means that we are not getting enough of this vital material in our daily diets. Energy Source’s Ful- products provide you with these fundamental nutrients that we are otherwise not receiving.
The Fulvic Humic Relationship
Fulvic Acids are a Humic substance. Humic substances are components of soil that alter physical and chemical properties and give soil better fertility. Humic substances affect the chemistry, cycling and bioavailability of chemical elements, as well as transport and degradation of xenobiotic and natural organic chemicals. They affect biological productivity in aquatic ecosystems, as well as the formation of disinfection by-products during water treatment. In other words Humic substances in soil will aid in the growth and nutritional health of plants just as it does with humans, the Humic Substance being Fulvic acids.
A Word of Caution: Like all organically grown foods, fulvic acid is adversely affected by chlorine. Chlorine residues may adversely affect many nutrients and probiotics as well as fulvic acid.
Energy Source does not use chlorinated water in its fulvic extraction process and we think it is important that none of our supplements be taken with tap water that contains chlorine or with beverages or juices made with chlorinated water.
