Glucosamine is a simple sugar that occurs naturally in the body, a combination of glucose and glutamine (an amino acid). When used as a supplement, hydrochloride (HCL) is added as a stabilizer. Glucosamine contributes to the formation of the cartilage that cushions our joints.
